MATT MATT RAYBEAM

Matthew Thompson, professionally known as MATTMATT Raybeam, is a genre-defying artist whose music transforms raw, spiritual lyricism into immersive sonic landscapes. Blending alternative hip-hop, jazz-influenced singer-songwriter traditions, and experimental production, he creates deeply personal work that explores intimacy, identity, healing, and transcendence. Through confessional songwriting and richly textured arrangements, they invite listeners into emotionally resonant worlds where vulnerability and innovation exist side by side.

Alongside his music career, Thompson is an accomplished poet and writer whose multidisciplinary practice informs every aspect of his artistry. A Lambda Literary Fellow and graduate of The New School's Master of Fine Arts program, his writing has appeared in BOMB, Juked Poetry, and Brooklyn Magazine, with original poetry also published by the Cuyahoga County Public Library. He has performed and presented work throughout the United States and internationally at renowned institutions including Lincoln Center, Pratt Institute, Godsbanen in Denmark, and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. As he continues to expand his artistic practice across music, poetry, and performance, MATTMATT Raybeam is establishing himself as one of today's most compelling interdisciplinary voices.
